The Traditional & Classic Siamese

Picture
The Traditional and Classic Siamese are very similar, and are sometimes called the "Applehead" Siamese - but all are different by a matter of degree. They are the original Siamese to come out of Siam, Thailand. These cats are rounder bodied, have a round face, and are extremely intelligent. They are known to have very warm personalities, are laid back, and LOVE to talk. They have a famous need for human companionship, which makes them known as “the cat that is much like a dog”. The coat for both the Traditional and Classic Siamese is short, very soft, and a bit thick with a delicate, silky feel. Central Florida Siamese breeds Traditional/Classic Siamese cats.

The Modern Siamese

Picture
The Modern Siamese (Extreme Wedge Siamese) are very different from the Traditional/Classic "chunkier" Siamese. The Modern Siamese is an extremely long cat with a long nose, and sharp points on its extremely wedged head. They also have beautiful, big pointy ears, elongated bodies and very chiseled faces. The whole shape of the head is said to resemble a piece of pie. The Modern Siamese was carefully bred this way over time, and are also very loving and intelligent. We, Central FL Siamese, however don’t breed these exquisite cats.
